Hello Dolly
I have been very far away from sewing and do miss it lots. I feel officially settled into the new house - the family taken care of and a good deal into the arranging and decorating phase of the house. The house has the walls mostly painted, and curtains have been hung, now it needs the life touches of prints, art and the fun finds from thrifty hunting trips.... all in good time. My machine is calling, and Fruitcake must be revived.
I have been buying new fabric, new trims and found a fabulous stash of vintage hats to take apart.
I am pulling out tiny satiny leaves and washing them one at a time... now thats love of the game!
The first project of 2008 was this doll for my friend Kim's new baby. I started a quilt, but it vexed me and I pulled it apart and it became Dolly's dress. Ha, I will not be defeated!
The next project will be a new bag for the back of my new business cards...lets just say one Saturday made me buy 3 yards of sassy sweet deep pink velvet.....mmmmmm
So, please stay tuned, as I return to Fruitcake with new Bags, Blogging and some surprises that will be worth waiting for.
